Parent volunteer positions

Job descriptions for the volunteer positions for the parents.

President: TAKEN- BERNADETTE HALBROOK

Duties- Direct relations to the International Office

Corporate and Community relations

Facilitates board meetings

Head of chapter growth and viability

Volunteer relations

Makes final decision on disciplinary actions towards volunteers

Time Commitment- The time commitment for the president, at a minimum, are the 2 hour board meetings once a month, any time put into community relations, and a trip to Houston in the spring for the Mid-year Annual Meeting for chapter presidents.

*Public Relations Director: TAKEN- SUSAN REYCROFT

Duties- Local publicity of the chapter

Recruiting for the 2005-2006 Amigos year

Work hand in hand with the president for publicity in the community

Time Commitment- The time commitment for the PR Director varies, besides the 2 hour once a month board meetings. The more publicity that is put out during the year makes the fall recruiting months go by easier and faster.

*Treasurer: TAKEN- NICK WHITIKER

Duties- Chapter finances

Tax preparation

Maintain bank accounts

Financial relation to the International Office

Time Commitment: The time commitment for the treasurer are the 2 hour once a month board meetings, any time it may take to maintain all duties just stated, as well as the once a month collection of checks from fundraising.

  • These positions are part of the Sacramento-Davis Chapter Board. It meets once a month for several hours. These positions don’t necessarily need to be filled by parents but I’m putting them out there if you are interested or know anybody that might be. All these positions are set up as internships that come with letters of support and with experience of working in a small business. They are highly recommendable for college students majoring in accounting, business in P.R., and business.

Fundraising Coordinator for Coffee: TAKEN- ROSE GUERRERO

Duties- Make sure all volunteers receive shipments of coffee

Receive and keep track of checks for coffee

Deposit checks to the chapter treasurer

Time Commitment- the time commitment involves mandatory attendance to the “team meetings” to receive all checks for coffee, and to make all necessary calls to volunteers to verify shipments are made.

Fundraising Coordinator for Poinsettias and Pecans: TAKEN- GINA MASSEY

Duties- Order poinsettias and pecans through the East Bay Chapter

Organize pick up of products for all volunteers

Receive and keep track of checks for poinsettias and pecans

Deposit checks to the chapter treasurer

Time Commitment- the time commitment involves mandatory attendance to the “team meetings” to receive all checks for the products and keep track of the number of products sold by each volunteer.

Paperwork Coordinator: TAKEN- NEAL DAVIS

Duties- Collect all paperwork from volunteers

Keep tally as to who still needs to turn in what paperwork

Make sure all volunteers are on top of what is due

Make sure all volunteers turn in what is due on time

Time Commitment- the time commitment involves mandatory attendance to the “team meetings” to receive all paperwork due and anytime it takes to call volunteers to remind about due dates or tardy paperwork.

Transportation Coordinator:

Duties- Set up carpools to all Amigos events

Time Commitment- what time it takes to set up a system to help you set up carpools as well as allowing any volunteer to call and request help with joining a carpool.
