Become A Volunteer
We're looking for volunteers for summer 2009! Email us and tell us your
name and school if you're interested!
We're thrilled that you're interested in becoming an AMIGOS volunteer with the Sac-Davis Chapter for 2008-2009. To apply, you must:
• be at least 16 years old by September 2009
• have completed at least two years of high school Spanish or Portuguese, or have an equivalent level of fluency
Below you'll find the three steps it takes to become an AMIGOS Volunteer with the Sac-Davis Chapter:
1. Attend Our Orientation Meetings!
This year, we will have several orientations in October in both Davis and Sacramento. You only need to go to one orientation meeting, but make sure you do attend, because a lot of information about fundraising and training will be covered!
2. Attend Our Interview Days!
Interviews are an important part of the process to become an AMIGOS volunteer. Prospective volunteers (and their parents!) will be scheduled for an interview once they email amigosvolunteers@yahoo.com requesting a time. The interviews will take place at Mercy General Hospital in Sacramento.
3. Complete The Application!
Once accepted into the Sacramento-Davis Chapter, volunteers will need to file an application with the AMIGOS International Office in Houston. We’ll talk about this process at our first chapter meeting. The application has a lot of deadlines, so be sure to pay attention and turn everything in on time!
