Sacramento Orientation (Mercy General Hospital-4001 J Street, Sacramento, from 2006-10-15 05:00 PM to 2006-10-15 07:00 PM) — by Todd Simmons

This orientation will be held at Mercy General Hospital in the Main Auditorium. The auditorium is in the basement near the North Elevators. We will be covering information on all aspects of the Sacramento-Davis Chapter and Amigos de las Americas as a whole. Topics include fundraising, training, time commitment, medical requirements, and anything that is brought up during a Q&A session. If you have any questions please write Todd Simmons (Training Director) at the e-mail address below. Mercy General Hospital is on J Street & 39th Street. After entering the main building, use the North Elevators to the basement. Take a left out of the elevators and then your first right. The hallway will take and left and the room is right there.

This is the first opportunity to get to know fellow volunteers, other parents, and the training staff. We have a few technical things to do so we need all vols and at least one parent to attend. Please come with food for a potluck; munchies, snacks, grub, finger food, mouthfuls of goodness, etc. Drinks will be provided. The potluck will be from 12:00 - 1:30 and the 1st chapter meeting will be 1:30 - 3:30 pmIf you can't make it please e-mail Todd at the below address.

By this date, volunteers are expected to deliver 50 addressed, stamped, and sealed letters to the letterwriting campaign coordinator, who will take the letters to the post office.

Project Specific Training

All volunteers & vets are invited to La Fiesta Taqueria at 6:00 pm for dinner (bring dinner $)and at 8:00 pm at 1362 41st St, Sacramento for an overnight of the volunteers to welcome all the volunteers back, share stories/pictures with each other, culminating with a Saturday potluck lunch to share stories and pictures with their parents.

June Graduation (716 N Street, Davis , from 2007-06-02 12:30 PM to 2007-06-02 03:30 PM) — by Linda Cloud

Graduation will be a Saturday potluck lunch in Davis at N Street Cohousing. Parents & volunteers get their tickets from the travel coordinator, get their cots. The lunch will be the first part, followed by travel & cot arrangements and finally the graduation ceremony.

This potluck lunch will follow the overnight reunion for the volunteers and veterans. Family,friends, and future volunteers are invited to join the volunteers for lunch and a chance to see pictures and hear stories from the other volunteers.
